We here at Daily Joypad are a lovely close-knit bunch but recently, we’ve been feeling a little lonely. We want more people to join us and revel in the awesome that radiates from the very pores of our site. We’re getting bigger and as a result, we need more people to help us out.
We’re not going to turn around and tell you we get millions of hits a month because that would be telling porkies. What you need to know is that we’re definitely gaining on the industry leaders and as we do so, we get busier and busier. As much as we love our site, we like to live happy lives away from the site too with things like jobs and hobbies. Apparently they’re pretty handy things to have.
So this is where you come in. We’re not about to ask that you pledge yourself to the Daily Joypad name forever but we’d love a few more of you on board for a ride with us to wherever we may go. You don’t have to have graduated from university with some fancy degree or have any real prior experience – we’re only looking for good writers with a passion for the video game industry. A good sense of humour and a sense of normality also help – we’re all equal here.
…except Jamie – we keep him in a cupboard and feed him biscuits.

If you think you’ve got what it takes, fill in the form below and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible. There is no deadline, but if we do get more submissions than we planned for (which is a good thing!), we’ll update this page as necessary. All applications will get a reply, we won’t just leave you hanging – we will keep you fully updated. If we are looking for a specific role, then we will include details below.
Extra, less exciting things worth noting: also known as the “small print”
If you’re thinking of joining the site on the pretence of being laden with all manner of freebies and goodies, you might be disappointed. We won’t say you’ll never get stuff like review code, but we’re more interested in keen writers who want to prove themselves. Do just that and sure, you’ll reap the rewards. Through effort and perseverance comes reward.
Whilst we’re a UK based site, we’re not going to prejudice against you if you’re not British. We’re definitely more interested in UK and even more so London based writers, but if you’ve got what it takes and you’re willing to work, we’ll take you on.
Saying the above though, if you are London based or can easily access London, you’re instantly someone we’re interested in. Unsurprisingly, a lot happens in London and when it comes to previews and special events, we’d love a few more team members based here for convenience. Like review code, you might not necessarily be going to every event under the sun immediately, but we’d definitely consider you if you’re a valuable asset.
We’d prefer all applicants to be 18+ for convenience regarding review code, event attendance, etc., but we’re happy to overlook the limitation somewhat if you’re an exceptional writer or you’re near enough 18 anyway. We will say that no one under 16 should apply though since that’s really pushing it.
This won’t be a paid role, unless you consider love and admiration payment. Never say never though – if you work hard enough, who knows that the future will bring. A famous beverage manufacturer once said “Good things come to those who wait”, and truer words were never spoken.
