A couple of days ago, we showed you a mysterious PlayStation-related teaser which didn’t reveal a hell of a lot. Well yesterday the internet was awash with rumours that the image tied in with an imminent announcement from Insomniac, suggesting that a new Ratchet & Clank game was on the verge of being outed. Well the developer has confirmed that this is the case, with the intergalactic duo’s new adventure entitled “Into the Nexus” and arriving on PS3.
It’s an epilogue to the Future games, and will be a single-player, story-driven romp with “a bunch of crazy new weapons and gadgets”. Brian Allgeier, the man behind Tools of Destruction and A Crack in Time is working on it, so expect good things to come from the new entry in the series. Although do bear in mind that this same chap also worked on Fuse.
Check it out in the announcement trailer below…
As far as the scale goes, expect it to be more in line with Quest for Booty than the other more full-fat games. It’ll retail for just $30 (probably £19.99-£24.99 in the UK), so it seems unlikely that it’s going to be massive. A little side-project to bridge the gap between the Future series and an unannounced PS4 game? Let’s hope so.
