Overnight, Sony released yet another update for PS3. As soon as you boot up your console you’ll be prompted to download firmware 4.25, which ups PlayStation Plus users’ cloud storage limit to a whopping 1GB, and does precious little else.

Be warned though, your storage may still display as a mere 150MB after you’ve updated, but a quick click on it should provide it with the refresh it needs. There are a few other bits and pieces hidden away too though, such as a web store that enables you to shop on PSN from the comfort of your computer, with the purchase automatically pushed through to your console.

There’s also an automatic cross-buy system, where buying a game on one format automatically grabs the other version so long as they’re both included for the one price (for example MotorStorm RC or Sound Shapes). Keep looking beneath the surface and you’ll probably find other little things too, but as long as it’s not one of Sony’s system-bricking updates them I’m quite happy.
