Nintendo has released a launch trailer for the 3DS XL, and it must be said, it’s very dramatic. The thirty-second long video begins showing the original 3DS, which for some reason sounds far more tinny in the trailer than it does in real life, and then introduces us to the 3DS XL which appears from out of the dark and blasts much clearer audio from its speakers. Footage of the upcoming New Super Mario Bros. 2 is shown in the video on both the original 3DS model and the XL, allowing us to see the big difference in screen size between the two models.

You can give it a watch here…

The 3DS XL arrives tomorrow, July 28th, across Europe. if you’re looking to upgrade to the XL from the current 3DS, then it might be worth taking it down to GAME as they are offering the system with an official AC adaptor for £79.99 when you trade in your old model. New Super Mario Bros. 2 lands on August 17th and will be compatible with both models of the 3DS.
