If you haven’t read my previous entries then you can read the intro here, day 1 hereday 2 here, day 3 here, and day 4 here.

So today I had a massive case of migraine and there was no way I was going near a computer. So I thought I would take this time to reflect on my time so far in the virtual world of Warcraft.

I love all the changes to the maps and the staring areas, the new areas as well. I think visually they look lovely and it makes such a nice change, I mean we had like three expansions where Stormwind looked the same, it was about time things had bit of a shake up.

I also really like the change to guilds, I think it definitely encourages people to stick around for a bit longer and to do stuff with your guild, which is what they should be used for. As much as I enjoy the perks of being with a guild, I think they are kind of unnecessary and they promote a lets invite everyone to the guild attitude, which in turn has made them a lot less social. Before, to get into a top raiding guild you would have to apply, and everyone spoke about tactics or insulted your tanking skills. Even in a social guild there would be some chat, but now in these big level 25 guilds with 700 members or whatever there is silence. Silence sucks.

I also still can’t get on board with the changes to the talent tree. I think it’s too oversimplified and just ends up with everyone having the same specs. It’s nice that it makes it easier for new players, but I think there should be an option for when you hit level 85 you can change the talent tree from the simple version to a more complex one. This could be better for raiding and PvP too.

I haven’t even played the new races yet, but I haven’t even seen them in any random dungeons or around Stormwind. Strange because you would think the place would be over populated with them, I know that when Wrath of the Lich King came out, death knights where everywhere. I guess the hype from them must have died down now.

Also I know the random dungeon finder isn’t new, and it is definitely a good tool, but sometimes I miss the old days where you would spend a hour looking for a group then spend another 30 minutes arguing over who would summon. Actually thinking about it I don’t miss it at all!
