If you still haven’t read my introduction to why I am doing this diary, then you can read about that here. You can also read all about the events of day 01 here.
I didn’t have to be up for work early in the morning so I thought I would sink a lot of hours into WoW tonight. Unfortunately it doesn’t always happen like that and so today’s diary is going to be short and sweet, as is the way in WoW sometimes.
I didn’t feel like playing my new Mage, so I decided to login with my level 80 Warlock and explore all the new content I have yet to see. The first big difference I notice is that as soon as I log on I am bombarded with requests to join guilds. What is this madness? I’m not stupid so I turn down all these level 7 invites. Finally I get invited by a level 25 guild and decide that will do. After further research into how the guild system works I now realise that this is one of the changes in the game that I can get behind. Basically it means that if you flit from guild to guild you won’t get any of the benefits that you would receive if you stay in the same guild. It even encourages you to raid and do PvP with your guild, which I love. All the top raid guilds used to be very hard to get into, but now they will want to invite you because your level helps them!
My friend Shakira wasn’t on tonight, so I thought I would give levelling a go in the new region. This is where things started to go wrong. Last night Shakira took me to an area which apparently is the entrance to the new zones. I spent a good 20 minutes wandering around the same patch trying to figure out how on earth I am meant to get anywhere. There is a portal, but it’s telling me I have to be level 85 to enter. How the hell am I meant to get anywhere if I am not level 85? I have read, and re-read, the quest and I’m sure I’m in the right area, why can’t I figure this out? It must be a bug in the game…right?
Instead of doing the sensible thing and reading about where I am going wrong, I rage quit instead. Goodbye for now WoW!
