The first batch of DLC for Modern Warfare 2 has been dated. Read on for for the official date, as well as a very cryptic message for you to work out…

Despite the speculation that Infinity Ward could be walking out, and all hope of DLC for the game being lost, it seems this is not the case. The first map pack will arrive at the end of the month. March 30th, in fact…

…But only if you own the Xbox 360 version of the game. As you may have heard, Microsoft have bought out a 30-day exclusivity deal on the said DLC, so expect it to hit PSN on Thursday 29th April at the very least.

Robert Bowling, Community Manager at Activision also left the following cryptic message on his Twitter Account:

‘http://www.mapathy.com – Feeling the effects of Mapathy? It’s okay, the cure is hitting #Xboxlive in just 3 short weeks. #MW2‘

The resulting website says:

‘Mapathy (n.) [map-uh-thee] (often expressed as, “How the hell did you know I was there?!”) is a state of indifference to the same old maps one has been playing for the last several months. The Mapathetic individual no longer derives pleasure from blowing up people hiding in the cockpit or on top of the crane. More than 20 million people may be at risk for Mapathy.‘

So do you have Mapathy? It seems to confirm more maps are coming…And maybe they’re implying the maps we’ll see are drastically different to the ones in the game so far, we’ll soon see…

Regardless of what the maps are like, common sense dictates that more or less every MW2 owner and their uncle will buy them.
